About Me
Hi! I'm Melissa McClure, a California native living in Los Angeles with my two young sons and Brit husband, all who keep me on the edge of my seat with their constant adventures. Hey, makes for great material!
I'm a self-taught photographer and a constant student of photography. I've taken courses at the Australian Center for Photography, Los Angeles Center for Photography, Click Photo School, Illuminate, and most recently completed a small group mentorship with Chuck Anerino.
Why am I obsessed with family documentary photography? Because real life is beautiful. Because we often don't turn our camera to towards the details we (later) wish we could remember. It was after the birth of my sons that my passion for documentary photography was ignited. Through my camera I started to see differently - how much beauty there is in the mundane, how honest images preserve meaningful moments, and how everyday life can be captured artistically for life's visual treasure keeping.
